The Location

Situated almost directly between the breathtaking coastline of North Northumberland and the romantic vistas of the Cheviots, Hazlerigg House is an ideal base from which to explore.

Top marks all round - excellent accommodation - lovely people.
Mr & Mrs Sharples - Wakefield

The most obvious attraction is the Cheviot range of hills, sitting directly opposite Hazlerigg. The Cheviots offer a wide range of walks to suit all - most start out in the market town of Wooler, just a short drive away.

For those who head to top the top of Belford Moor, only a mile uphill from Hazlerigg, they will be greeted with views strecthing from Berwick in the North down to Dustanburgh in the south. The north sea, with it's golden beach coastline is one of Northumberland's truly hidden wonders. Bamburgh castle provides a great day out, guided tours are on offer and visitors even get to witness the dungeons!

A little further south lies Alnwick, the traditional county town of Northumberland and home to Alnwick Castle and the World-famous Alnwick Gardens. The Gardens, including europe's largest tree house have grown to become one of the best attractions in Northumberland, where visitors can marvel at the fountains, poison garden and pavillion beofre sampling some fine local food in the treehouse restaurant.

Newcastle and Edinburgh are both an hours drive, and have some great sights to offer.
